Mmmmmm lots of new parts :-)

We have a 9 bladed fan hub, upper and lower fanshafts two pulleys, four bearings, a belt, some nuts and bolts and a partidge in a pair tree.....

Let me tell you a short story about what happens when you order 25mm shafts and 25mm bearings.......When they both finaly arive and you go to fit them together they will not fit...I wonder why? Perhaps its because the bearings are too small or is it that the shafts aer too big?

In actual fact the shafts I had been sent where a few small units too big, (possibly my fault for not being more precise with my technical drawings *slaps wrists*.)..Anyhow moving on....I took the shafts to my local precision engineers and like all these people so long as you talk to them like people and tell them what you are doing etc they are more than happy to help. The guys stuck my shafts in a lathe and gave them a quick rub down, they now fit perfectly into the bearings :-)

Whilst at the engineering shop I also got them to machine out my flywheel to that my aluminium adapter plate would fit properly. The also kindly agreed to drill the holes for me.

And finaly....Here is the aluminium adapter plate bolted onto the flywheel.....Doesnt it look pretty

I cant get over how nice it looks, I made that!!!!!! its an amazing feeling...

I am working on the drivetrain at the same time as working on the hull, as I progress the two will slowly become one as the craft is finished.
